NSBA: Invitation to Social Entrepreneurship & BEE : "Free Education to Free our Nation", 10th May, 17h
Dear Members and Friends
We all know that it is better to teach a man to fish than simply give him one to eat. But how about teaching him to start a fishing industry? And how does it translate into a modern context?
How about enabling more than 5 000 disadvantaged South African youth to graduate from university or other education post-school? Graduates who now earn well over R 200 million in annual salaries and will earn and inject R6.5 billion into the South African GDP over his/her working life? And as a return commitment these university students all teach in their communities and 600 000 South African school kids have been trained on life-skills.
Combine this with a unique and valuable “1-stop shop” approach for your BB-BEE scorecard that is real and truly makes a difference in the lives of South Africans.
Our speaker at this sundowner, Dr Taddy Blecher, has achieved the above together with the Community and Individual Development Association and invites us to visit the Maharishi Institute that won the global “seedlings of success” education award last year, as the most innovative and exciting education institution in the world under 5-years old as voted on by 10 National Ministers of Education.
